When and where is Long Course Weekend Belgium?
Long Course Weekend Belgium takes place from 18 - 20 September 2026 in and around Nieuwpoort.
What distances are there for each event?
We offer the possibility to enter different distances within different disciplines:
- Swim: 1,9 km, 3,8 km
- Bike: 45km, 90 km and 180 km
- Run: 5 km, 10 km, 21,1 km, 42,2 km
- Half Long Course: 1,9 Swim, 90 km Bike, 21,1 km Run
- Full Long Course: 3.8 km Swim, 180 km Bike, 42.2 km Run
Is there a kids event?
es, definitely! There is a Kidsrun on Sunday.
How do I know for sure that I am registered?
You should receive a confirmation email; don’t forget to check your spam where it might end up in case you can’t find the email. If you're not certain you have received the confirmation email, if you cannot find it, send us an email at [email protected].
Can I register for someone else?
Yes, that’s possible. Just make sure to select ‘someone else’ on the registration form.
When can I expect the event pack?
Absolutely everything you need to know about the Long Course Weekend will be communicated a few weeks before the event via e-mail. This will include event timings. It is important to carefully read through this information as details may be different to those on the website. We recommend using the online Event Pack as a guide, as an email will be sent to the address you registered with notifying you of final details and possible amendments.
When will I receive my timingchip and BIB number?
You can collect it when you check in on the day of the event.
How can I change my distance and what are the associated costs?
You can update your distance directly in your Eventrac account. An administrative fee is always charged.
If you switch to a more expensive distance, you will also need to pay the price difference
Can I transfer or resell my ticket to someone else?
Yes, you can easily do this via your Eventrac account. The participant’s name will be updated to the new owner. Each transfer requires an administrative fee of €5.
Please note: we strongly advise against using platforms such as TicketSwap.
Do I have to participate in all three days?
Long Course Weekend offers a series of events and distances over the course of 3 days. You can enter just 1 discipline, multiple disciplines or the entire Long Course Weekend. LCW is the perfect tailored made multisport package. It's your choice!
Why is it cheaper to enter the three events separately rather than entering the Full Long Course Weekend?
If you enter the three events separately, you will receive a finisher's medal for each event (3 medals total). If you commit to the Full Long Course Weekend, You will receive not only the finisher's medals for the three separate events, but also a LCW finishers giveaway and Goodie Bag as well as the coveted fourth medal (if you finish all distances within the cut-off). not only this, but you will also get the opportunity to be a part of the awe-inspiring LCW fourth medal ceremony.
Does the run course include running in the sand?
No, the entire course is asphalted, so you never have to run in the sand.
I am already registered, when will I get my number?
You will receive your number on the day itself, at the time of registration.
Is a wetsuit mandatory?
This depends on the water temperature. If it is below 15.9°C, a wetsuit is mandatory. We will share this information shortly before the event through our communication channels (website, social media, etc.).
When will we receive all the practical information?
Around September 11th, you will receive an email with all the information and practical details about your registration.
Will there be pacers on the course?
Yes, there will be pacers for the Nieuwpoort Marathon. Both for the full marathon and the half marathon.
For the full marathon, the pacer times are: 03:30, 03:40, 03:50, 04:00, 04:10, 04:20, 04:30, 04:45 and 05:00
For the half marathon, the pacer times are: 01:30, 01:40, 01:50, 02:00, 02:10, 2:20, 2:30
Until when can I register?
Registration is open until 16 September. In some cases, you may still register on the day itself, provided the race is not sold out.
What are the cut-off times?
For the swimming events:
- 3800m: 2h15
- 1900m: 1h40
For the cycling events:
- 180 km: 9h
- 90 km: 8h
- 45 km: 3h
For the running events:
- Marathon: 5h30
- Half marathon: 3h30
- 10 km: 1h30
- 5 km: 1h00
Do you get a medal for each race and distance?
Yes, for each discipline and distance you will receive a medal at the finish. Even children will receive one during the children's race.
What type of bike can I use?
Road bikes are recommended, but we will not refuse mountain bikes or time trial bikes if that is your preference or all you have available.
E-bikes are allowed, but they do not count in the ranking.
Can I have ticket/cancellation protection for Long Course Weekend?
Can I participate with an e-bike?
Yes, with clear rules:
- E-bikes are not allowed in Full, Half, or Junior LCW entries.
- You can join a separate bike event with an e-bike, but you won’t be included in the rankings.
- You’ll still receive a medal!
What is the minimum age to participate in the different distances of Long Course Weekend Belgium?
Minimum age varies by distance and applies on the day of the event:
- Swim (1.9 & 3.8 km): 16 years
- Bike: 45 km (12), 90 km (14), 180 km (16)
- Run: 5 km (8), 10 km (12), half marathon (16), marathon (18)
- Half LCW: 16 years
- Full LCW: 18 years
- Junior LCW: 14–17 years
Can I participate with my company or for a teambuilding?
Definitely! You can register as a group and also request an extra tent or other facilities if needed. All practical information can be found here:
